If the graphics were bad it’d be much more obvious that everything else about them are too. I think the good graphics just flatter these games much too much. And neither do I care enough about it to just look it up. I guess it says something about the game that I can’t even remember one of the main character’s name just a few hours later. Like really basic comparisons that come across as kind of insensitive.īut there’s other more simple problems like how the action sequences are actually quite hard, in that they’re infrequent enough that you don’t really get any practice at them, and most of the bad stuff in my playthrough came about just because I wasn’t very good at running with… I forget his name now but the ‘robotic’ android. But the whole racism thing is really badly handled and just… dumb. On the surface it’s pretty good, in terms of the way the story splits and how it looks and everything. I agree with the guy writing in about Detroit: Become Human. I’m sure they must be working on their next console anyway, because that’s how these things work, but what if that was the replacement for the 3DS? Some sort of shrunken version of the Switch that wasn’t much more powerful and played the same games, but because it wasn’t a tech leap was actually cheaper? Sounds like the sort of thing Nintendo would do to me. So will the Switch extend its lead at that point? Will it gain while the others decline and end up beating the Xbox One (I don’t believe it’s possible for it to beat the PlayStation 4)? Or will the Switch start to decline next year because it’s on a shorter trajectory? What even is the lifetime of the Switch expected?Ī lot of questions but I’m not sure even Nintendo knows what the answers are.
And I’d assume they’d accelerate if and when the PlayStation 5 gets announced. Next year might be more interesting though, because by that point the decline in PlayStation 4 sales should be more obvious. Interesting to see the predictions about the Nintendo Switch sales, although it seems to be close enough that it doesn’t really matter who ‘wins’ this year in terms of sales. That set me back £40, so I’m curious: what’s the most anyone else here has spent on a collector’s edition? I once bought a Resident Evil 6 collector’s edition because it was on cheap and I was curious to see what it was like – turns out the best bit was the weird box it came in. (I mean, I guess some of them were probably in the previous games but how do you know how they’ll be portrayed in the new one.) So who in their right mind is going to pay what in the UK will probably work out as still £400? For a game you haven’t played and featuring statutes of characters you have no idea if you’ll like or not. Maybe I’ve missed something here and Darksiders is actually insanely popular, but from the responses in the Inbox so far I don’t think so. Then the ‘Apocalypse Edition’ is $400 which has a wall scroll and four statues. The regular one has a statute and some other bumph that costs $150, which I think is fairly normal, if a bit on the expensive side, for these sort of things. Although the thing that raised my eyebrows the highest was the stuff about the collector’s editions. Funny to see everyone saying basically the same thing about Darksiders III: why release it in the middle of Christmas when it’s not a well-known game.
